Your Gateway To Squatting Safely

I love to squat.

In matter of fact I’ve squatted 18 separate times in the last 5 weeks.

However, you have to earn the right to squat.

When I was younger I played baseball and my position was the catcher.

That meant that I squatted every day hundreds of times during training and games.

This has carried over to squatting in the gym with ease.

However you may not be as fortunate.

Generally I find there are three things that stop people from getting a nice ass to grass squat.

You sit in an office chair most of the day..

OR

Have never learned how to squat properly…

OR

Your biomechanics doesn’t lean itself to squatting – put simply this is your shin bone and torso length.

For the reasons above some people need to regress down to the most basic squat variation to ensure a full range of motion and learn proper technique.

The most basic squat you can do is a front foot elevated split squat as shown below.

As I explained in the video that is the most basic form of squat.

Shoot for 3 sets of 10 on each leg aiming to be 3 seconds on the way down and 1 second up.

Once you can master 3 sets of 10 with some weights in your hands then you might be ready for the next step up.

Like I said, you have to earn the right to squat PROPERLY as some people don’t have the mobility required to squat with depth.
