Sweet Potato Chips – The How To Guide.
If for some strange reason you don’t love sweet potato, then we need to talk.
However if you do, read on.
Today we have put a little twist on the classic potato chip with our very own how to guide.
We will show you how to make the perfect batch of sweet potato chips at home that take less than 5 minutes to prepare.
The ingredients you need are as follows:
500g sweet potato
1 table spoon of butter
Salt to taste.
Firstly we recommend buying a batch of smaller sweet potato rather than one big one.
It makes chopping a lot easier, and gives each and every chip a crispy outer shell from the skin.
They should look something like the above.
The step for cooking are:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, if you have a fan grill that is even better.
Step 2: Chop the potato long ways into half. Then depending on the size of the potato you can cut it again.
Step 3: All your chopped potato should look like long sticks about 1-2cm in diameter with skin on one edge each. Take all these pieces and put them in a bowl.
Step 4: Take the table spoon of butter and melt it in the micro wave and then pour over the sweet potato. Once you have done this also add the salt.
Step 5: Mix the butter and salt through the sweet potato batch.
Step 6: Line a baking tray with tin foil for an easy clean up. Lay out the cut potato pieces evenly so that they don’t overlap.
Step 7: Oven bake for approximately 20 minutes or until cooked through and slightly browned.
Step 8: Lift the tin foil of the tray and place the chips on a tray.
Perfect! No mess and a plate full of ready to eat chips.
