Are Your EXCUSES Holding You Back?

It’s 3pm and you’re at your desk buried in paperwork questioning whether or not you will make it to gym class at 5.30pm

It’s been a long day and you are feeling exhausted

Your start thinking of all the things you need to do and come up with excuses to skip class

Stop! Don’t abandon hope just yet!

The trick is to knowing how to counter the excuses that keep you from working out

This will not only help you get to that class & get closer to that dream body of yours

But will make you feel in more control of your everyday life

So today I want to share with you:

Three common excuses people make when it comes to adopting a healthy lifestyle and my interpretation of these excuses

But more importantly, the good stuff being…

Three strategies you can employ immediately to combat any type of excuse

*I also want to add it is not my intention to point the finger at people so that they feel like a victim, my goal is to empower you to make better decisions and get the results that you’ve been working for.

And…..

That I confess to making these excuses before…..but now know better and want to pass it onto you

Common Excuses

# I’m tired ( = _ = )

Without exercise, you’ll have no energy…..it’s a vicious cycle

But did you know that working out can actually gives you more energy?

Trust me, you will feel better after a workout I promise!

Here are some key benefits

• Your body makes feel-good hormones (endorphins)

• Improves Blood circulation

• Boosts Brain activity & Energy levels

• Will help you sleep better at night

• Aids in stress relief

# I just don’t have enough time

We all make time for things that are important to us, like going out to celebrate your best friends birthday, attending the footy game, watching that extra Netflix episode before bed or maybe a few sneaky snoozes on your morning alarm.

Regardless of what it is, if we really want something it we will make it a priority

If something is not a priority for you, you will not make time

That’s where the excuse stems from

I have clients who really want to get healthy and they have made it a top priority and ensure that they made time for it

For majority of people, all it would take is to make a few lifestyle adjustments:

• Dedicate 30 – 60minutes of resistance training at least 3 times per week

• Make healthier food choices

• Drink more water

• Reduce stress levels

• Get enough sleep each night

• Cut back on low value activities – the late nights on Facebook, the 8hours of TV

#It’s too hard

It is only ‘hard’ if you perceive it to be so

This excuse generally comes up when you are trying something new

Like any first time the difficulty comes from the initial moments of adjustment and being in an unfamiliar situation… Such as taking on the gym for the first time

Over a period of time, simple & consistent actions will allow the ‘hard’ to become ‘easier’

It is also important to realise by not challenging ourselves to take on something ‘hard’ we can be left behind with other ‘hard’ circumstances

This can include:

• Not liking what you see in the mirror

• Low energy, self esteem & feeling like shit

• Being unhealthy and function poorly

• Living with illness or pain

• Living with regrets

The above is only a snippet of excuses

However it is time to get into some strategies that can help you combat the above and most other excuses

3 Strategies to Combat Excuses

1. Organise your priorities

Determine what is important to you right now

Define what your priorities are

This will allow you to resolute conflicting interests when they pop up

2. Revise your language and become a Problem Solver

Our language reflects our reality, especially what we consider possible.

Stop yourself from engaging in self doubt and start saying things like:

“Why is it important to me?”

“ How can I make it work?”

By finding a solution to your excuses you will eliminate reasons not to get more, have more, or be more.

3. Ask for help if needed

This is a POWER move

Only excuse makers claim helplessness

In the context of starting a fat loss journey, enlisting the help of an experienced coach is a fast, effective and efficient way to put you on the right track for success

And there you have it…..Three simple strategies that you start using in everyday life
